As part of its ongoing efforts to develop academic and professional knowledge and to apply the concepts of sustainable development in the fields of finance and management, the Department of Accounting Techniques at the Polytechnic College, Babylon, in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Division, organised a specialised training course entitled:
(The Role of Green Accounting in Improving Financial Performance).
The course highlighted the concept of green accounting and the mechanism for integrating environmental costs and benefits into financial statements and reports, as well as its active role in rationalising consumption and reducing environmental and financial waste, thereby contributing to improving the financial performance of organisations and achieving sustainable development.
The course featured a review of a number of academic topics and modern strategies aimed at measuring and assessing the environmental impact of economic activities, underscoring the Faculty’s commitment to keeping pace with global developments in up-to-date accounting practices in a way that serves the educational and community environment.
