As part of its ongoing efforts to promote preventive awareness and foster a safe educational and behavioural environment, the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Polytechnic College, Babylon, organised an advisory and awareness-raising event entitled:
(The Role of Educational Counselling in Combating Drugs and Ensuring the Psychological Well-being of University Students), which was an analytical study examining the roles of university counsellors in preventing addiction and fostering psychologically balanced personalities.
The event featured a comprehensive review of the key counselling and psychological mechanisms and methods through which educational counsellors help to protect students and raise their awareness of the dangers of social ills, whilst also highlighting how to promote psychological well-being, mental stability and shared responsibility on campus.
The event featured a discussion of the key areas essential for developing students’ skills and guiding them towards appropriate behaviour. The Faculty reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to implement such educational and guidance initiatives to raise academic and educational standards, protect students and safeguard the university environment.
