As part of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of prevention and enhance mental well-being amongst students and the university community, the Department of Medical Device Technology at the Polytechnic College, Babylon, organised an educational and awareness-raising event entitled:
(Factors Leading to Suicide and Ways to Prevent It).
The event provided a comprehensive overview of the psychological and social causes and factors that may lead to such incidents, emphasising the importance of early detection of psychological warning signs and the provision of direct counselling and support to individuals within educational and community settings.
The event also highlighted the most effective scientific and awareness-raising methods and mechanisms for reducing this phenomenon, as well as promoting the concepts of psychological and social support, and to activate the role of counselling and psychological support units. The Faculty reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to adopting educational activities and initiatives that contribute to the protection of young people and the provision of a safe and stable university environment.
