As part of awareness-raising and guidance initiatives aimed at protecting young people and providing a safe family and academic environment, the Educational Guidance Unit at the Polytechnic College / Babel, Middle Euphrates Technical University, organised a guidance and specialist course entitled:
(The Biological and Psychological Dimensions of Suicidal Behaviour in the University Environment).
The course focused on highlighting the biological and psychological factors influencing human behaviour, as well as mechanisms for the early detection of indicators and psychological pressures that students may experience within the university and wider community.
The course also featured a discussion of the most important preventive and counselling methods and mechanisms designed to provide psychological and social support and to strengthen the role of educational and university counsellors in offering advice and psychological support to students. The College reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to organising initiatives and activities that promote psychological and behavioural stability amongst students, thereby contributing to the development of a balanced and aware academic personality.
