Department of Medical Instrumentations is committed to educating and training students to become qualified professionals capable of operating, maintaining, and developing modern medical devices used in today’s healthcare systems. Our academic program offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers biomedical electronics, medical sensors, signal processing, anatomy and physiology, as well as maintenance and safety procedures for medical equipment. The vision

In a department at the Babylon Technical Institute, we seek to provide students
with advanced technical education and practical training that ensures that they
acquire the necessary skills in the field of maintenance of medical devices of all kinds,
whether electronic or electromechanical medical devices, as well as the graduate of
the department can operate them. Our vision is:
“To be a center of excellence in training and qualifying technical cadres
specialized in the maintenance and operation of medical devices, by providing an
advanced educational program that combines theoretical knowledge and practical
application, to graduate qualified technicians capable of meeting the needs of the
health sector with the highest levels of efficiency and quality.”

- The message

Medical devices are the effective tool that the doctor and medical
staff rely on for examination, diagnosis and delivery of health care. In
light of the rapid developments in this field, it has become necessary to
have qualified cadres capable of operating and maintaining these vital
devices with high skill and accuracy.

The most important requirements for the continuity and efficiency of
medical devices in health institutions is a deep knowledge of the
principles of their operation and maintenance techniques, and this can
only be achieved through training, qualification and acquisition of field
practical experience in various work environments. Therefore, our

university decided to establish the Department of Medical Devices
Technologies to be a tributary to health institutions in our beloved
country with distinguished graduates, who have the skill and knowledge
in the operation and maintenance of all types of medical devices,
whether electronic or mechanical.

The main objective of establishing this department is to raise the
level and quality of technical services in health institutions, by training
the students of the department on the basic technical principles on
which medical devices are based, and qualifying them to be able to
maintain and operate these devices efficiently. We in the Department of
Medical Devices Technologies believe in the need to provide advanced
study plans that keep pace with the latest scientific curricula and
combine the theoretical and applied aspects, within the framework of a
supportive educational environment aimed at building the capabilities of
our dear students to be active in serving the scientific process and
building our beloved Iraq.

In conclusion, I would like to thank all the professors and colleagues
who exert their efforts in achieving the objectives of this department,
and I urge our students to persevere and strive to achieve their
ambitions and improve themselves to serve their country, Iraq, who with
their perseverance will be the benevolent nucleus of community service.

The aims

Providing distinguished technical education in the field of medical
devices, maintenance and operation, with a focus on the latest technologies
and methods used in this field.

· Develop students’ skills to be able to deal with complex medical
devices, both in terms of maintenance and operation, to ensure the
continuity of their efficient operation in health facilities.

· Enhance collaboration with hospitals, health departments as well as
companies to provide real practical training opportunities for students,
helping them gain real-world experience in the work environment.

· Qualifying graduates to be able to enter the labor market upon
graduation with a technical diploma, with the ability to work in the
maintenance and operation of medical devices efficiently and accurately.

· Innovating in training programs to keep pace with the continuous
technological progress in the field of medical devices, by updating curricula
and introducing new technologies in education and training.

· Raising the level of health and technical awareness in the
community by providing graduates trained at the highest level of technical
expertise in this vital field.

· Through this vision, we aim to provide the local and global market
with specialized professional cadres capable of dealing with the challenges
of the healthcare sector, thus contributing to improving the quality of
