Babylon Technical Institute is holding a workshop on empowering Iraqi women in the context of sustainable development

The Department of Materials Management Technologies at the Babylon Technical Institute organized a workshop titled “Empowering Iraqi Women in Sustainable Development”, as part of the Institute’s efforts to support the role of women and enhance their contribution to the achievement of inclusive development.

The workshop saw the attendance of a number of students, where various topics were discussed, highlighting the role of women in achieving sustainable development, challenges they face in various sectors, as well as ways to enhance their participation in economic and social spheres emphasizing the need to empower Iraqi women and strengthen their role in society, which contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Governmental and community-based initiatives supporting women were also reviewed, emphasizing the importance of providing training and rehabilitation opportunities to upskill and enhance their role in community-building.

This event comes as part of a series of activities organized by the Babylon Technical Institute to raise awareness on sustainable development issues, starting from its commitment to developing competencies and supporting different categories to achieve progress and prosperity.
