The Technical Institute in Babylon organizes an awareness seminar on electronic extortion and ways to tackle it

The Educational Guidance Unit at Babylon Technical Institute, one of the teams of Al-Frat University of Technology, organized an awareness seminar titled “Electronic Blackmail and How to Tackle It”, in cooperation with the Department of Electronic Technologies, the Department of Community Health Technologies and the Department of Legal Administration Technologies.

The seminars discussed the top methods of cyber-abuse that are widespread in the community, ways to protect yourself from falling victim to these crimes, as well as ways to tackle them through legal and technical procedures. The role of educational institutions in promoting digital awareness among students and the community was also highlighted.

During the seminars, the presenters emphasized the importance of following security guidelines when using social media, not sharing personal information with unreliable entities, as well as the necessity to report any cases of extortion to specialized authorities.

These seminars are part of a series of awareness-raising events organized by the Institute aimed at promoting digital culture among students and professors, and keeping up with technical developments in order to ensure a safe electronic environment for all.
