Founded in the year (2008/2009)
Quality has become a hallmark of excellence and innovation in all educational, service, and industrial institutions. Therefore, the Middle Euphrates Technical University in general, and the Babel Technical Institute in particular, have focused on applying comprehensive quality standards to achieve international accreditation and to attain a distinguished position among universities and technical institutes.
Therefore, the Quality Assurance Division at the institute seeks continuous improvement in its work and the establishment of quality assurance principles among all members through self-assessment practices according to national and international standards, as well as the evaluation of faculty and staff performance and institutional performance assessment according to national classification standards in order to obtain programmatic and institutional accreditation.  The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department is affiliated with the Dean of the Institute.

Commitment to implementing the quality management system according to the requirements of total quality systems by motivating and guiding employees to fulfill their responsibilities to achieve quality objectives, ensuring performance efficiency with continuous development and improvement.  And the quality policy should be understood by all levels

in the institute and reviewed and monitored periodically to ensure its suitability and compliance with the work.

Department objectives

Working to ensure the quality of all the institute’s activities, especially academic programs and scientific research.
Enhancing the culture of quality in the institute and its quality procedures and mechanisms.
Reviewing and defining the institute’s strategy, mission, and main objectives in light of developments and updates to enhance and improve higher education.
Gathering the results of studies and internal audits, analyzing them, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and providing suggestions to improve and develop the institute’s performance.
Providing support to academic programs to achieve their goals.
Conducting field visits to the institute’s departments and units.
Creating a database for the programs and degrees offered by the institute and the administrative units to enable monitoring of the educational process.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Supervising the department’s members and distributing tasks according to the units.
Reviewing the incoming mail for the department and forwarding it to our department’s units.
Answering inquiries from the scientific departments regarding the application of quality standards in the scientific departments.
Promoting a culture of quality in the institute and enhancing its procedures and mechanisms.
Identifying weaknesses and providing solutions to improve and implement quality standards in the scientific departments.
Conducting field visits to the scientific departments to monitor and audit the extent of quality standards implementation.
Formulating plans and programs for the department’s work and setting guidelines that achieve the quality objective.
Holding seminars, discussion panels, and workshops with the aim of enhancing the level of awareness in the field of quality.
Involving the staff of the Quality Assurance Division in training courses, seminars, and workshops related to quality.
Applying quality assurance standards and indicators in the academic departments with a report on the growth and development rate.
Auditing the performance evaluation process for all faculty and staff.
Providing the Scientific Promotions Unit with the performance evaluation of faculty members for the purposes of academic promotion.
