Embodying the methodology of scientific and research cooperation pursued by the Middle Euphrates Technical University, and based on the principle of sharing scientific experiences, a teacher from the Babylon Technical Institute registers a patent entitled Improving the mechanical and electrochemical properties and reducing the thermal conductivity of the high copper amalgam alloy by adding aluminum oxide. Where the patent was registered in the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control to enable it to prepare an alloy by plumbing, where the sample was according to the specifications of the American Dental Association No. 1, and the mechanical and physical properties of the alloy were studied, which include (compression resistance, creep, dimensional change, hardness and thermal conductivity) and the result was that (compressive resistance, hardness) increases when the addition is graded from 0.5% to 2% of aluminum oxide either (thermal conductivity, crawling, changing dimensions) it decreases when the addition gradient from 0.5% to 2%, where when the thermal conductivity decreases, this leads to reducing the thermal shock of the tooth and thus become amalgam teeth more comfortable (reducing the feeling of pain) as well as it was noted that the corrosion resistance of amalgam improves when adding from 0.5% to 2% aluminum oxide. The alloy with reduced thermal shock of the tooth and thus the amalgam of the teeth becomes more comfortable and more resistant to abrasion.
